talked to wife about new light!
by unstopableravens ini showed my wife the new light, it did not go over good.
i started with all the publications and asked her three questions 1 who is the fds 2when did they start 3 when did they get appointed over "all the belongings"?
using the recent publications she said 1 the fds is 144000 2 they started in the 1st centry 3 they were over all belongings in 1919. then i showed her the annual meeting report on the jw.org and went over each point.

The WT is not a religion. The religion it serves, Jehovah's Witnesses, is the only true religion.
Some people understand that now.
Everyone else will understand it during the Great Tribulation.

i don't think they could explain their views of 607 b.c.e.
, 1914, any prophetic bible books, the old vs. the new fds understanding, the blood fraction reasoning, etc.. do you think the average witness is able to explain from the bible why they believe things as they do?.

Much of what the slave teaches goes over my head, and I let it go :-)
My main purpose in being one of JW's is to nurture a loving, intimate friendship with Jehovah and his Son.
Everything else is secondary.

you had to personal study, read your daily text, read the bible daily, prepare for field service, prepare for meetings, get to them at the proper time, preach as much as possible, etc.
we never truly enjoyed life..

I found an interesting 'Christian' explanation for the 'third eye':
According to the teaching of Father Richard Rohr, the concept of the third eye is a metaphor for non-duelistic thinking; the way the mystics see. In Rohr's concept, mystics employ the first eye (sensory input such as light) and the second eye (the eye of reason, meditation, and reflection), "but they know not to confuse knowledge with depth, or mere correct information with the transformation of consciousness itself. The mystical gaze builds upon the first two eyes--and yet goes further."
"It happens whenever, by some wonderous 'coincidence,' our heart space, our mind space, and our body awareness are all simultaneously open and nonresistant. I like to call it presence. Rohr refers to this level of awareness as "HAVING THE MIND OF CHRIST". (emphasis mine)
Now I don't understand or necessarily agree with all that, but I like the last part :-)

This is not true unless YOU allow it to be true.
No adult is FORCED to take on more responsibility in the congregation.
YOU need to decide what you are able to do to serve Jehovah, and if you are asked to do more, JUST SAY NO!

Ethos, I SO agree with you.
The anti-JW's are 'taking their eye off the ball'. The ball is JEHOVAH. They're so busy stumbling over MEN, that Jehovah gets lost in the shuffle.
I wonder what the REAL reason is that they don't want to serve Jehovah?
Could it be that they don't want to humble themselves to do the preaching work?
Well, if you don't do the work, you don't get the prize---everlasting life.

It is OFFICIAL they want MORE MONEY : NEW ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
by raymond frantz ini just came back from the meeting .although the local announcements have been abolished recently as an item for the second part , an elder came on the platform to announce that the society needs more money and there is a letter on the noticeboard for all the congragation to read to this effect.
although the announcement was read half heartedly (this elder's daughter is an apostate ,it looks like he knows what's going on) the implictions are dramatic .
the society in brief,requests any brother or sister with funds sitting on personal accounts to loan them to the society ,he didn't go into any specifics but i will take a picture of the letter next time and make it available here .. i'm not amazed that they're asking for money ,i thought it will happen sooner or later .what i'm amazed is that 99% of the congragation are oblivious to the financial crisis that the society finds itself these days and the reasons why .i can see the future now .the watchtower will be the fist part of the babylon the great to go down in a blaze of scandals and financial troubles !.

DATA-DOG, I don't believe that Jesus' sheep are scattered within dozens of conflicting religions.
There may be a stray sheep here or there, but I believe the vast majority of true Christians are already united in one religion.
Jehovah and Jesus are extremely well organized.
